Maura Gomez, Ph.D.

Dr. Gomez earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University, following her undergraduate education at Vassar College and Oxford University. She completed her internship training at the prestigious Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation at NYU. Dr. Gomez is a New Jersey licensed psychologist with over twenty years of clinical experience. She is trained in both cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic treatment approaches and provides individual, group, and family therapy. In her career, Dr. Gomez has also provided crisis intervention, ABA therapy, cognitive remediation, and bereavement counseling.

Dr. Gomez joined Integrative Psychology Services in 2012 and specializes in providing on-going individual psychotherapy with older adults living at home and in assisted living communities. She has especially enjoyed developing a long-term therapeutic group “curriculum” that integrates reminiscence work with social support.   She believes in the importance of family involvement and a multidisciplinary team approach to best manage the complexities of aging, disability, and emotional health.

She is married for over twenty-five years and has two teen-aged daughters. Both were home-schooled for many years and she is happy to report that one is in college and one is a high school senior.
